I occasionally encounter these among filamentous algae in my samples from a dystrophic lake in the Mer Bleue bog. They have very long, narrow mouths, completely surrounded by extrusomes. Contractile vacuoles are both ventral and dorsal (possibly scattered, though the twist in most cells makes it difficult to be sure). Large defecatory vacuole in the posterior. Narrow cells, when uncompressed; often very flattened and twisted, with a baggy appearance. Proboscis long, broad and blade-like. They resemble Pseudomonilicaryon angustistoma, apart from the arrangement of contractile vacuoles and the extrusomes around the mouth. However, Peter Vďačný suggests that they are Pelagodileptus, possibly an undescribed species.
