A cercozoan flagellate that lives in large colonies, embedded in a matrix of brown or golden spherules. The colonies I find in Mer Bleue samples are usually round. Cells are tiny (5-7 μm), generally ovoid when inside the colony and roughly spherical when swimming. Each cell has two long flagella.
