Pseudokeronopsis similis (previously misidentified as Anteholosticha monilata)

When I first posted this, 10 years ago, I identified the ciliate as Anteholosticha monilata. When I looked at it again, in early 2024, I realized I had misread the frontal cirri. The cirri I’d singled out as a group of three enlarged frontals actually appear to be part of a urostylid “bicorona”, a doubled “crown” of cirri arching over the buccal zone. I now think this is probably Pseudokeronopsis similis, a ciliate that has frequently been confused with A. monilata, by Alfred Kahl and others (see Berger, Monograph of the Urostyloidea, 972-978) T
